In one of the world's largest lithium mines, located in Antofagasta, Chile, a critical need was identified: securing the stability of its Data Center, which manages the Operational Technology (OT) network. The project involved integrating two

FDC-206KMR units from FORZA's Atlas series. This double-conversion online unit was chosen for its local availability, rack-mount form factor, and technical capacity, which perfectly fit the requirements of the mine's EMS Orion-3x250 system The FDC-206KMR UPS has a capacity of 6000 VA/6000 W, a power factor of 1, and an input range of 110-300 VAC, ensuring maximum reliability for critical equipment.

Key Results and Benefits

The implementation of this energy backup solution completely eliminated the risk of zero-crossings. This elevated the energy and communication availability to 100%, a crucial milestone for the operational continuity of the mine's OT network.

In addition to stability, the solution provided an autonomy of 7 hours, ensuring the Data Center’s communication remains uninterrupted. According to ITELOGIC's Project Manager, Claudio Cares, choosing the FORZA FDC-206KMR model was key to meeting project deadlines without compromising the quality of the energy backup.
